Good morning, here's your wx discussion for Thursdsay, March 27: According to www.spaceweather.com "Three large sunspots have materialized on the sun and one of them has unleashed a large solar
flare, actually the biggest one of the year, which signals a significant increase in solar activity." The aurora forecast shows the possibility of the northern lights, over the next few nights, reaching as far south as Pierre, S.D.; Madison; and Lansing, Mich. If you know your geography, those three locations actually reside farther south than the Northland, so we are in luck! For the best viewing, head away from the ambient city light and look into the northern sky. If you happen to get any photos of the northern lights, send them to me at: Weather@kqdsfox21.tv and I'll show them on the news at 9 p.m. Here's you forecast: Today: Mix of clouds and sun, cooler; High: 28 Tonight: Partly clear and cool, aurora watch; Low: 12 Friday: Partly sunny, flurries possible lakeside; High: 32; Low: 14 Saturday: Increasing clouds late; High: 34; Low: 21 Don't forget to tune into Fox 21 News at 9 p.m. for the latest weather updates and more on your Fox 5-day forecast. Have a good Thursday!
