My wife and I are excited about coming down Friday night after work and doing some early morning shooting on the shore. Anybody up to it..?

I would love to, but have a surprise 60th for my Dad the night before and it will be a late night.

Out of curiosity where do you plan on shooting?

That should be a good spot.
I haven't been there since the snow and ice started melting, but it looks like there is still some on the shore so you should be good to go.

If I can get myself out of bed I could. Though, be warned, my current project I'm working on has me nowhere near the typical photo selections pre-dawn. So I'd probably not be within sight to keep compnay until the sun hits.

I'd be bringing my 4x5. Maybe my 6x6 as well for when dawn starts and I can finally finish up the color I got loaded in it.

Kip,
Why not try a real long exposure, pre dawn?

Not for me.... but I have an amazing sunrise/sunset over the lake right out my window, now. I might actually pony up the cash for a couple rolls of Velvia, leave a camera by the sliding glass door and try to catch 30 or so of each.
