Here's the info you need. Should we have a fun photo time/gathering somewhere? February 20st. (A Wednesday) The eclipse starts at 7:43pm. The total starts at 9:01pm. And ends at 9:51. After that, the eclipse ends at 11:09pm.
For sure I wanna get some shots through my telescope Dunno if I'll try much landscape or other stuff though The sun sets two hours before the eclipse begins You can shoot some through the scope if ya want
I have one of those cheap 500mm lenses with the 2x barrel on it, making it 1000mm. It has a canon ring on it, so if anyone going has a canon i wouldnt mind sharing. This was taken with it. Granted, this was last year, in the winter, and I had a crappy tripod and was not using the mirror lockup, so it turned out a bit blurry. This time it will be better.
waphoto, you can get a lens like the one i have for less than 100 bucks, and you need to buy the Nikon adapter for it, which is not much. So, for 120 bucks, you have a 1000mm lens. It is by no means a fancy lens. And it is very dark, as it is a long thin lens. So it only works on day time or moon shots. The same company also makes a mirror version of it, which is much shorter/bigger around, but it costs the same. Its fun to play with. just a thought.
nikon? what for? i shoot a canon 1n hs...do you just have a 500 reflex? the coolest reflex lens was one made by minolta that was af, it was pretty cool! reflexes have fun bokeh too, its doughnut shaped :P
@Waphoto sorry dude! Thought I saw something about you and Nikon someplace. My bad. And no, its not a reflex lens. If you wanna see what it is, go here, first lens, top left: www.ritzcamera.com/help/qlensdemo.htm#void
oh hell no you cant hand hold it! Even if its bright out, it wouldnt be something that you would want to do. It is a VERY dark lens. If you want to play with it let me know. I used it to take some pics tonight, check out my stream if you wanna see.
