Driving down I35 and I noticed a car accident ahead. No police yet but single lane traffic. I quick unzipped my camera from the bag and managed to blindly shoot out my window this scene. I had no idea if I got the shot but when I got home out of the 3 shots I did take this one was perfect. Glad I had my camera.
i didnt see you there

Ha! That guy looks pissed (as I'ms ure he was)

I tried doing the same a few years ago in the Nevada desert with my Speed Graphic as we passed an overturned semi with teh driver leaning against the wreckage.

I failed horribly.

I suspect its a bit tougher to pull off with a Speed Graphic :-). 4x5 isn't exactly suited to that sort of photography.

The Speed Graphic is actually very well equiped to handle action. (As much as a 4x5 can) Built in rangefinder & a shutter shutter that tops out at 1/1000th makes it very robust. I'll bring my 1950 copy of the National Press Photography Association's year book top the next meeting if you'd like. The thing is full of action photos taken on 4x5 speed graphics during its prime.

My problem was we were going about 65 when me passed it, so the camera movement made it pretty sheeety. If it would have been single lane-bottle necked slownesss, I could have hit it.
