I downloaded a new template and extracted all the files but for the life of me I can't figure it out. WTF! Any have any ideas? Here is a link to the one I want.. www.pixelpost.org/extend/templates/delicious/
I would be willing to buy beer if someone wants to sit down a build this sucker with me or better yet show me how. I need to learn this crap!

Last person who agreed to have me do web work for a beer trade got set back $65 when I requested a case of Trois Pistoles. The joys of charging for professional help.

Moe, I am in the same boat today. I am working on building my web page today and I have no clue what I am doing.

If we can get some help let's buy the person a beer and dinner.

Oh, and I have figured out how to install templates (I think), but I haven't found a template that I like for my site.

yo,
First, You need to have an html editor such as Frontpage, dreamweaver, etc.. Then you open the template files with the html editor and start editing.

I have minimal experience as I designed mine in Photoshop, saved as html and did very simple editing in dreamweaver. to the html files.
As far as I know, this is the easiest way to develop a site.

Who are you using for hosting and are you using any programs like dreamweaver or frontpage?

Moe, that is a nice looking template for sure. If you end up going with it, try to make it your own as much as possible in case some other photogs are using it.

One other thing, when using flash sites, search engines have extreme difficulties picking up your text.

Read here for more info www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/flash_searchability.html

I will try to help as much as possible.

And people like me tend to leave immediatly the first time I try to go back a picture/page/whatever by using a browser back mouse gesture and and it fails.

I might be able to help if it is simple enough, the last complicated job I did I charged $300 for and was a little headachy so I don't want to do that anymore, but who knows. Let me take a look at the template and see what installation entails. I'll get back to you tonight/tomorrow and let you know if I can help. Same with you Shana, I still need to get that disc to you to see if it'll help, but any real help will require an idea what exactly you want then I can decide if it is quick enough to do gratis (or for beer).

**doesn't look too hard as long as you have to needed info, which if you have a similar template installed you must, I got some web stuff I have to get caught up on myself, then I think I can help. Might be a day or two before I can though**

Edge, I have a very plain front page built with KompoZer, so basically what I need it help figuring out how to publish it to my site, as well as two other pages that I am still need to develop (and create links between them), and of course getting my gallery on there. The gallery is already created in Lightroom, but again, I can't figure out how to make it active on the site.

One I can figure how to publish them I think I can figure it out from there.

Shana,
Open the folder that contains the HTML you edited or created.
Make sure your main page (aka home page) is named index.html
Select all files and folders, copy those files. Log into your bluehost account. Go to "Unlimited FTP" Open the "Public HTML" folder and paste those files into that directory.

After you get them copied into the Public_Html folder go to your web browser and type in your web address.

Shawn, thank-you! I will do that tomorrow.

Rich, I just might email you if I can't figure this out.

I guess it's something I want to learn how to do. It looks as if I need a web page builder like dreamweaver or frontpage? I will look into getting that and then I will need the help. It makes sense that I would need a program that could open this template. What do you suggest. Frontpage or Dreamweaver?

my recommendation is to get the most-affordable for you. however, my preference of the two is dreamweaver by far. both will work.

Aaron, did you get my flicker Mail?
admin
I just now did. So it was that easy? I like it but I want to understand what happened to make that work? I download the template, then what. I would love to get together with you so you could walk me through it. What I really want is to take a template and customize it myself to fit my needs. SO Edge... when is a good night for you in the next month or so. Moe
