if i want to print photos somewhere in the area where should i go? last fall after taking some friends grad pics i went and had them printed at true colors by cub foods, but they don't have a photo studio anymore. i tried first photo, but i don't know how much i liked it. are there any other specialty photo places?

WHCC. there is a post on here about them and a possible your. They are hands down the best and they are fast. They are located in St. Paul but only a day or two turn around when you order. www.whcc.com/ your first set of prints are free to adjust your monitor calibration. Give them a try,,, I think everyone on DPG uses them and I have never heard a bad thing.

By the way I once took some stuff for printing at True colors once... It was the worst I have ever seen.. The colors were way off compared to wallgreens.

thanks. haha when i went to true colors, now that i think about it the colors were a bit off. i remember my face in a certain picture was actually orange.

and your first prints w/ whcc are free? nice. cant beat that, especially if they do a good job.

5 free 8x10's and yes they do a great job and they are extremely reasonable. Free shipping with two day turn around on $12 or more purchase.

I use WHCC quite a bit my self, even for professional work and they do a bang up job. If your monitor is calibrated properly, First Photo will do as good a job (albeit a bit more pricey, but local). The only downfall with WHCC is that you are restricted to JPGs. First Photo will print out your artwork under TIFFs as well for a much better tonal range -- just ask for the giclee option when getting prints done. Of course, if you only shoot in JPG, then it is not worth the extra price to get one printed this way.
