Nikon EM repair manual

jan bode [deleted] says:

Hey all ... does anyone happen to have a Nikon EM repair manual? I have two EMs. One that looks like it just came out of the factory, but doesn't work, the other one looks like it got run over by a truck, but works like a charm. I'm trying to switch parts from the non-working good looking one to the working shabby looking one so I can have one that works and looks good.

thanks for the update. yeah, i've never been interested in the em. i recently gave a friend my fg. can't stand those plastic compact nikons. but they're a great value.

The EM is one of my favorite Nikons. It's super simple, and pretty reliable ... and dirt cheap to replace if it does fail. I do wish it were metal instead of plastic, though.

They are not ones first choice of a shooter...but every now and then i find that the small size and low weight is really called for. When the weight allows one to carry one extra roll of film for one example, or a better lens. Doesn't matter when you are just out for the day but when you are out for a week the weight of all the other stuff you need can not be neglected.

The only really annoying thing with the FG is the lack of trigger-locking film-advance-lever. It seems almost every roll there is one or two blind-shots!

I had an EM in my backpack on several occasions when we were going down the AT. It's a great little camera that'll beat any point and shoot. As I said ... super simple, yet pretty reliable.

good points about compactness irrlboss. i turn to my pentax's or olympus for that--to me, these are the undisputed kings of the compact full frame slr's!
