Group Description

It should be simple. You fancy a day out by the sea, on the sand, under the sun. You want to go for a walk, cycle, swim, surf, or perhaps you just want to search some rockpools or build sandcastles. Well the chances were that as you made your way to a selected part of the English coast, you were confronted with a 'Private: No Public Access' sign with unwelcoming barbed wire around a tantalising patch of beach! Even a child building a sandcastle on a beach could have been trespassing and many footpaths were diverted miles inland, away from that wonderful seascape. Thanks to your help, the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 was passed, which stated a coastal path around the whole of England would be created

However the current economic situation means that the implementation programme for the coastal path could be cut, as government looks to reduce costs. This would be a mistake as the path will not cost huge amounts and it will create jobs and boost the rural economy, as well as help to keep people healthy.

Add your photos of the coast to show your support for a coastal path!

Please note that we will use some of these images as part of our campaign (crediting the photographer where we can).
