Dont normally use forums for protesting but I hope everyone understands why when you read the details of this one.
A developer has applied for permission to partially demolish Gledhow Grove and convert it into flats and office space.
Could everyone please write letters of objection to the Council and English Heritage the building is a grade 2 listed building

Shaun - great initiative but could you tell us which planning application it is? Also some link to how to complain might help!

If I'm reading it right then there are 2 applications that have been put in.

07/02970/LI is the listed building application.

07/02971/FU is the full planning application.

Just to add some info, two applications put in on 04/01/2006 were refused. These were 20/53/06/LI and 06/00624/FU. They were for a greater number of flats. This is the usual story, keeep putting in reduced developments until one is accepted.

There is information on how to comment on an application here.

You could ask for meeting with your local councillors and a planning officer to look at the plans. I'm assuming this is in Chapel Allerton ward. Details of councillors and surgery times etc are given here.

Good luck.

And to keep a flickr taste to the thread, here's a pic. (Hope I've got the right place !)

Had a letter today from the council unfortunately they have approved the application, so the building will be partially demolished

I sort of expected that was going to be the outcome - big shame though.
