The FlickrCentral pool is a fast moving and varied place of many superb images. One of the best ways to explore flickr and see what there is and find areas, photographers and groups that you will like is to peruse the pool here and find an image that you like. Click through. See what groups it is in, see what contacts that user has. See what their favourites are. Keep clic...
I am a photographer and a first time author, my book "Mommy is Worried about My First Day at preschool" was published yesterday on Amazon.com and other Amazon outlets.
Flickr has helped me experiment with photography and my first children's book is full of fun photographs. I used Gimp to make my book cover.
I would very much appreciate tips from you on...
How on Earth do some people have so many followers? For example, I noticed one person had 95,000 (I'm sure others have more). How the heck does one amass such a following?
Even more curious, some people have a huge number of followers, yet only follow a very small number of people themselves.
Looks like they changed the home page layout again (the one the Flickr button at the top of the page links to). Instead of a vertical column of photos from people I follow, they're now spread across the screen.
Actually don't mind it too much, but I'm not able to favorite photos right from that page. If there is just one photo from a person, the fav button is there,...
i cant add photos to many groups, i see communicate : This group doesn't allow moderate items." i dont know what about it is, i cant add too - jpg file without any intervention of any software. i know rules of my groups, but this information i see first time.
I'm just curious as to how other photographers deal with failure. I know it's all part of the process and it helps us to learn, but I did a shoot on the weekend and failed to capture the whole 'atmosphere' of the scene if that makes sense. I was shooting in Manual so perhaps I will look over my camera settings more carefully next time.
Any advice/wisdom much apprec...

I have been Windows 10 on my main computer sense it was Beta and I love it. I admit I had to tweak a few items, but was easy to do.
No need to say your date of age, but how old are you? Also when did you decide you like taking photos and while your at it when did you join this mess they call Flickr?
at 10 years old

One of my favorite things about flickr was the ability to look at other peoples work and see what exposure they used or what lens they were shooting with. Did this dissapear? Now my photos just say what camera was used. Very sad if they got rid of this. Also, anyone know any other great and fun photography sites that still do use it?
Hi everyone was told I needed to introduce myself so here I am. I'm Elena from Malta but moving back to UK soon (long story) and I love photography so am thinking of doing a course when I get back. Is ther any courses you would recommend me. Thank you, Elena x

Until recently, I was just letting Flickr email me every time there was activity on one of my photos. This led to a cluttered inbox at times, so I switched to the once daily email option. When I log on to the site during the day, I go to the "recent activity" section, but I realized it only shows 10 things maximum for each photo. Is there an easy way to see ALL activity...
