These are the links to all Nikon software including the 60-day trial of Capture NX 2. If you know of a link for a region that isn't here, just reply to this post and I will add it.

Nikon USA

Nikon Europe

A great idea to make this a sticky! Danke.

Actually, the credit goes to GStrader, I just implemented it. :-)

it's a great idea for American users...

doesn't work elsewhere...

Plus, none of the current download sites recognise the full version I originally got free with my (grey import to UK from Hong Kong) D300, back in 2008. I upgraded to CNX2 and a D700 a couple of years later but Nikon have since changed their site setup and none of them recognise my original copy... I just get the "...from another region" fail message from all four download sites nowadays. Stuck with V2.4.0.

Anyone else have this problem?

If someone gives me the link for other countries / regions, I will be glad to add it.

just to say... finally bit the bullet and deleted everything Nikon from my hard-drive, then downloaded and installed the latest CNX2 version, crossed my fingers and entered the key I got with my "from another region" copy - and when I say from another region, that was the message I got from every current Nikon website - and YAY, it worked :)

Useful post, thanks - can I quickly hijack it to remind any passing Flickr users that when you come to buy NX2, do NOT buy it from Imagemixer. Just Google "Imagemixer Nikon" to see why.

Thanks! I was onto my third 'regional' download and after googling I came across this thread and thought best to try Canada!

I can download from any site but it will only apply the update from the region you orginally downloaded it from. Apart from having the original receipt (long gone!) is there anyway you can tell what region your software was originally downloaded from, or do you just need to just play roulette until you get it right?

dave.fergy says:

I don't know but if you go to the Help menu and click Update Capture NX2... I would assume that it will notify you that your region's update is available when it becomes so.

E.g., mine is the 'Australian' region (whichever region Australia is in) and it will not update for several days after the new versions are available elsewhere (last in the pecking order I suppose). So if you just keep trying it may well notify you that it is available for download when it becomes so and clicking the notification will take you to the correct download site. The Nikon View update has become available but not Capture at present (for me).

Hope this works for you.

FYI,Nikon Message Center 2.1.1 update (Windows ONLY) is now available. I just updated mine. This one takes care of those Windows 8 issues.

Hi. New to the group. Thanks for letting me join:-)

Out of curiosity any news about Capture Nx D? Will support and help be included as part of this groups future?

Any ideas if any plug-ins can be used with Capture NX D?

Simple as it is:

According to Nikon there are no plans for plug-in support with NX-D final release. Unless there is a great deal of noise from the user community constantly I would say they will leave any plug-in support out of the program.

I linked for all applications the english language country selection page. Other languages can be picked in the drop down box top right. Choosing your country will get you to the download page with all associated information.

I am assuming that NX2 lastest version is 2.4.7 is that right?
PeS-Photo PRO 3 years ago
I have Ver 2.4.7 installed since ages, and I have not seen anything newer, so I think you're right
birdgal5 PRO 2 years ago
I have also been running NX2 Version 2.4.7 for some time now. I actually wondered if Nikon was planning to discontinue Nikon Capture NX! I have been using it since I purchased my Nikon D100....now using a Nikon D4. I am sure Lightroom is wonderful, but I am put off by this software wanting to organize my photos for me! I already have my own system.

I think I figured it out....Nikon Capture NX-D is the not-so-new kid in town! You can download it for free. It pretty much does the same things that NX2 does, but I have not figured out how to create tags for my photos and a couple other things. On my MacBookPro, it is somewhat slow....even though my computer exceeds all the requirements by quite a bit. I prefer CNX2, but I don't think we have a choice here....

No Choice I am afraid. CNX2 is discontinued. Don't like the new jobbie personally so jumped ship to LR.

Capture NX-D does not seem to have this feature, but View NX-I does have some keywording/description/title capability.

Why on earth do they need the two? I would have thought one combined piece of software should be the way to go. Still its their shout and I have made my choice :-)

I talked with a friend about LR, and she has offered to walk me through it. I have a copy of LR4 and a book to teach me how use it, as well....purchased awhile ago (then, my computer died). I figure that, if I have learn a new software, I might as well transition over to LR. What was Nikon thinking???
