Today I pulled the trigger and ordered my 24-70. It was a toss-up between that lens and the 35L.
After judging the types of shots I take the most, this was the logical choice. It wont' be my main walk-around-lens. But it will see a lot of use as I will be doing a lot of event photography in low light situations.
It will go into my bag along with my 50mm 1.4, 24-105L...

I've been coveting this lens for quite some time now...finally took the plunge since I've got my brother's wedding coming up and that gave me a good excuse. Plus Canon double rebates, I could justify it. I'm really excited...I can't wait for it to get here!
i just got my new 24-70mm from ebay brand new.. just one question.. i bought this instead of the 24-105mm because of the extra stop.. but i know they both have considerable distortion at the 24mm end.. does everyones have that distortion on average the same amount because of the wide angle? do most people have to fix these shots in cs2 with the lense correction fil...
I know that every lense has a "sweet spot". I was wondering how image quality at 2.8 compares to other openings such as 8 or 10, which seems to produce the best results with cheaper lenses.
What have you noticed at 22?
