We'll feature some of our favourite portfolios and pictures from the group on guardian.co.uk and maybe in other formats, e.g. our newspapers. By posting your pictures here you a) acknowledge that you have created the pictures or have permission to do so; and b) grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, free licence to publish your pictures as described. Group Description

Summer's the ideal time to photograph butterflies, so we're collecting images of all types of butterflies from the UK and around the world.

It doesn't matter what species or where the butterfly was seen, but please only submit photos that were taken in 2009.

If you record exactly where you have seen the butterflies, this will be useful for Butterfly Conservation, who monitor butterfly numbers and use data from volunteer recorders to help protect species from decline.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that we're running a simultaneous - and broader - 'garden wildlife' Flickr group too. So if you've got pics of squirrels, badgers or frogs, please add them there too.

We'll feature some of our favourites on guardian.co.uk and maybe in the newspaper version of the Guardian as well. By posting your pictures in this group you agree to let this happen (though copyright remains with you at all times).
