Hi all, I will be travelling to budapest staying at the Residence izabella for 3 nights early October with my wife and 3 year old son. Do you have any tips which would make our stay more enjoyable, I will be taking my camera and wanted to know if you had any tips with regards to photography in budapest and the best places? also do you have any tips for types of clothing we should take, I know I could look at lots of weather websites but you can't beat real life experience!
Thanks' in advance,

October might be rainy, so make sure you will have raincoat, and pullover. Though at times even in October we have nice sunny weater.

For tourism and photography just go to the Danube bank and you will find all the most famous facilities in the downtown. Do you have any special interest beside tourist spots?

I was in Budapest twice. A few weeks ago the last time.

I would defenetly visit the hero place and the park behind it. And if you are a big kid, like I am you can visit the transport museum, which is also next to the park. There are a lot of steamtrains, old cars, motorcycles and so on. The subway line, which goes there is also worth to see. The stations look, like nothing has changed during the last hundert years.
If you visit the castle district, i would advice you to eat in the Restaurant "Pest Buda" it´s a little restaurant, where a piano player plays every night I´ve got a picture of him in my Budapest Fotostream). The meals are very good too!

One main hint:
Don´t belive everything you read in the tourist informations, that you get for free there. I searched for a few shops, which where discribed as individual and so on, but most of them where as tiny as the bathroom in my hotel ;) and the stuff was not so cool too!

Greetings Emanuel

Danube bank and Heroes Square you need to go, that's for sure.
The Gellert Hill, and Castel District is a visiting worth too.
Another Cool Spot is the Deák Square with the Elizabeth Square next too it. From there you have the Andrássy Street, the Stephan's Church, The Vaci Street, The Jewish Sinagoge and so on.

Another Cool, but a little bit grotesk Spot is the Big Cemetery next to the Keleti Railstation. It's almost as cool as the big one in Vienna :D
Another Cool spot is the National Theater, which you can see on my last Pic here.

I think for the First one :D
