Group DescriptionWelcome to our Flickr space. Here we hope you'll showcase your love of bees as the BBC's Bee Part Of It! project, to be launched on Monday, 17 May, 2010, creates 40,000 new bee friendly wildflower spaces across the UK and follows the progress of 45 new hives.
You can read more about the project on BBC Breathing Places
Here we'd love to see your pictures of all types of bees in the UK and bee-friendly habitats like wildflower meadows. Remember it's all about the wildlife, bees and pollinating insects, flowers and habitats - no people pictures. Images of butterflies, moths and hoverflies are all very welcome.
To help other visitors to the group get the most from your pictures, perhaps add some notes to identify the species of bee/s or flowers in your picture by using Flickr's excellent 'notes' tool.
To help people find your photos by subject or location, get tagging. When adding your pictures some of the UK's bee groups have asked if you could tag your pictures with the type of bee featured. Honeybee, bumblebee or solitary bee would be a real help. If you know the actual species too that would be fantastic.
If you're new to Flickr - hello :) Here's some top tips on tagging your pictures. It would be great to be able to show a map of your pictures from across the UK too, so why not try some geotagging, just click the 'add to map' button from the photo in your personal photostream.
And don't miss some of the excellent bee pictures already submitted to our friends at Springwatch. Springwatch: Bee photos

A number of images from this group are showcased on the BBC Local web features around Bee Part Of It! Here's how it looks on the Norfolk site BBC Norfolk: Bee Part Of It!, but the widget appears on all the BBC Local Bee Part Of It editorial.
Group Rules1. Please only submit images taken from April to October inclusive.
2. No people! This is about nature.
3. UK only please.
4. Three photos max per day.
5. It would be a shame if all those great photos we’re expecting couldn’t be showcased on BBC services. After all, not everyone knows about Flickr.
That’s why, in the spirit of the excellent Springwatch Flickr group, it’s easier all round if we make it a rule that if you submit a photo to this group you’re automatically giving us permission to do this.
If we do we’ll always let you know and credit you and the copyright will remain yours.
If you’re not happy with this then there are all sorts of other great Flickr groups out there that would be more than happy to display your photos without this understanding.
