Havasu Falls

Forget Me Knott Photography 5:59pm, 10 April 2007
Does anyone know if the water level fluctuates or if the water temp in Havasu Creek changes during the seasons? Thanks.

Yes, the water temperature varies by season, and the water level is dependent on recent rainfall.

No, I don't know if there's a trending schedule anywhere.

I'll be headed there June 2-6, so hopefully the water is nice and cool!

The water in the pool below Havasu Falls is generally pretty chilly. Evaporation as the water falls down the face cools it off pretty well.

I haven't been there since the big floods, but I'm told that the travertine has been reforming nicely.
Well it's pretty overgrown now since the floods which is really unfortunate if you ask me because it obstructs a lot of view but still quite worth a look. As far as the water level I know the rainfall will affect it but since it comes from a spring is there a constant minimum flow? I just want to know if there's ever a time I would be disappointed to go? I've only been in Summer and I'm looking to go sooner this year maybe. Thanks.

I suppose it depends on what you consider the "view."

I always thought the plant growth down there was pretty spectacular, especially after coming down that trail through bare rock to get there.
