Drag to set position!

Astacus ADMIN January 5, 2010
Welcome to the aqua-tnet group on Flickr - The aim of the group is to promote the open exchange of digital materials for use in education relating to aquaculture, fisheries and aquatic resource management. We welcome contributions from teachers, students and anyone involved in the sector - especially practitioners (farmers, biologists, vets, engineers, managers etc) with an interest in ensuring students graduate with a good knowledge of current systems, techniques and issues.

Group Description

Our project
This group is linked to the European Erasmus Thematic Network for Aquaculture, Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management. Its purpose is to encourage and facilitate sharing of photos and videos to enhance the teaching of these topics.

Adding content to our pool
We welcome all types of images and videos relevant to our theme of aquaculture, fisheries and aquatic resource management. The main criteria is that they should usefully illustrate some aspect of systems, environments, species, techniques, equipment, practical skills or specific problems. However, where appropriate, please ensure you have the permission of the subjects (or owner of the site or premises) to distribute the image. In particular, please be mindful of commercial confidentialities and security issues. Hopefully needless to say, you should only contribute materials that you have personally created.

Tags and descriptions
Images and videos contributed to the group should include in their title and/or description, sufficient information to allow them to be used in a teaching context. Comprehensive but directly relevant keyword tags should be used to help other members search for suitable images. We strongly recommend you use the group tag selector tool at www.aquaculture.ugent.be/tag-selector. This suggests standard key words, which when selected are copied to your computer clipboard for easy pasting into the tag field in Flickr.

Copyright and usage
We encourage you to post images and videos with a Creative Commons Licence allowing non-commercial use and adaptation. However, by submitting photos and videos to this group you specifically give permission for them to be used by other Members for teaching and learning. This includes use in lectures, class handouts or eLearning course materials. It also includes use by students in their essays and assignments. Please see the group rules for more details about the use of digital materials contributed to this group.

Acknowledgements
If you use any of the materials contributed to this group in your lectures or essays etc. you are expected to acknowledge the submitter (preferably with link to original Flickr address). You should also feel very guilty if you use resources from this group but do not contribute anything yourself! We would also appreciate if you provide some brief feedback on how you have used any photographs via this feedback form

Discussions
The group promotes the responsible and sustainable management of aquatic resources for the production of food and other aquatic animal and plant products. The discussion forum is a space where teachers and learners can discuss issues relating to the enhancement of education through the use of digital media and the open sharing of learning resources both internationally and between academic organisations, industry and other stakeholders. Members are expected to post responsibly and with respect for each other's views.
