I keep getting a message while in Aperture that says "there was a problem connecting to Flickr. The operation couldn't be completed (OSStatus error-1) ." This occurs when I am not actually doing anything with Flickr. I have to force quit aperture to be able to do any further work with it - and shortly after I do - the message comes up again. Suggestions?

Sounds like you're using the built-in Flickr synchronization, and Flickr had hiccups while Aperture was checking to see if anything had changed on Flickr (so it could reflect changes in your local library).

Personally, I avoid the built-in synchronization and use FlickrExport by ConnectedFlow.

I get a half dozen of these messages queued up every morning. This started a few weeks ago.

My guess is that Aperture tries to poll Flicker periodically, and if there is no net connection it generates this message. But I switched my computer from WIFI to hard-wired with no change in the problem.

I also got the same message one time but with Facebook.

Unchecking the box to automatically check for newly published albums made this problem stop happening.

@markdionne: Thanks for the tip. That just resolved the same issue for me.

@markdionne: Ditto. This page was the first result for a Google search on this error message, and unchecking the box just worked for me as well. Thanks! :)

It's annoying nonetheless, so I submitted a bugreport to Apple: openradar.appspot.com/12045599
