Please add any and all Aires pictures to the group, thanks.
Group DescriptionA group for owners, users, and collectors of Aires cameras.
Aires was a small Japanese camera company based in Tokyo that produced cameras from 1949 through 1962. The most famous of their cameras was the line of Aires 35 cameras which started with the basic Aires 35 and culminated with the 35V, an interchangeable leaf shuttered rangefinder. Other cameras of note were the 35-IIIc styled after the Leica M3 and the Radar Eye which had an unusually fast 1/1000th speed in its leaf shutter.
Technical notes aside, the Aires cameras are all classics and hold a certain chrome charm. This is a group for anyone interested in the cameras or the few of us who actually use them. Anyone is welcome to join, hopefully this will go somewhere!
