Lepphotos ADMIN March 27, 2019
I'm very impressed with the photos in this group. Well done everyone - I enjoy seeing your photos. I have not lived in Africa since 1975 - but my heart is still there. Butterflies were my first love. This group has now come to me, March 27, 2019. I've added a couple Moderators. We seek to keep this group scientifically pure. If you add a butterfly to this group that can also be found in regions beyond Africa please be sure to add the location. Example - Papilio machaon - Morocco.
Group DescriptionPhotographs of wild (not in captivity) butterflies only (no moths) in Africa. Photographs of caterpillars & pupae are also welcome. Please give a location & identification if possible.
I'd like to encourage you all to participate in the South African Butterfly Conservation assessment. Participation is easy - upload your photos of butterflies to the Virtual Museum along with a date and location etc. Experts will ID them and use the data to learn more about butterfly distribution & population dynamics. The virtual museum can be found at: sabca.adu.org.za/public.php
Butterfly photos from South Africa, Lesotho, & Swaziland are welcome.
