Group Description

A round-robin style online quilting bee. A place to exchange quilt blocks and Ideas. Also a good place to give new life to orphan blocks you might have laying around...

no time frames, no deadlines, no pressure. (flake friendly---as you won't get any blocks, if you don't send any blocks--you are in charge of your own happiness, and satisfaction.)

This group will be on-going, so you can send in starter blocks at anytime.

how it works:

- you make a 6 inch (finished) (( so it will be 6.5) inch block, make as many as you'd like back.

-mail the block to me, with a note that says "add-a-border blocks", your flickr name, and a title for the block. Also include an SASE for each block you send.

-post a pic in the round 1 thread, and include the title (so it's easy to follow these as they grow)

-I will mail you back a block of equal size, it will be the work of someone else in the group.

- At this point you can decide if you want to keep what you get, or add a 3 inch border (or corner triangles) to the new block. Take color and design cues from the block, If you add-a-border, send the 12 inch block back to me. Make sure to always include an SASE for each individual block you send.

-When you have completed a 24 inch block, (round 4) decide if you want to keep it... or turn it in and choose from another round 4 block (from the "finished blocks" thread.. Please note, that it is unlikely that we will get our own starter blocks back, as other groups members could decide to keep them at any point. This will be part of the fun of the group. For the purposes of this group, 24 inches will be as large as we go. but you are always more than welcome to keep going on your own, or work out swaps with others.

Post pics in the group pool, and corresponding discussions.

Please tag your photos in the following format:

+AB for add-a-border block swap followed by the title of the block.(see below for an example.)

This will make it easy to run a search for these blocks and see how they have grown.

We should have some really great blocks to start some awesome medallion quilts.

These blocks will be scrappy, and unique, with the labor of many hands. Please FM me if you have any questions or concerns or suggestions. This is my first time running a swap, and I really hope we can come up with something enjoyable.
