Hi Guys, I am in the process of ordering a sprayhood. I have seen plenty of your photos but I cannot find any measurements. Since I have the mast and boom dismantled I would like to know the height of the sprayhood to the floor cockpit. Thanks in advance for your information,
regards Alex

Your supplier /maker will /should tailor make your hood .. (if you want a good fit)
You will need to design it to your needs (two or three windows. ) HD tube. hand holds. reinforcing.
He will spend an hour or more measuring and designing.
If you buy a hood off the shelf expect disappointment.
The maker will want to fit it himself . (to keep his reputation)
A good hood will not be cheap.Ive had 3 made by my mate ..all V good .and Neil one for Palidin.

Yes the supplier will come to measure the hood requirements, it will be custom made! But he will still want to know the maximum heigth of the hood under the boom. At the moment the price offers are between €900 and € 1100. Will keep you updated.

I will fit Goskars up tommorrow and measure it/
Sounds cheaper for my mate to make one using Goskar as a dummy and sending to you.

I can vouch for the quality of work by Ron's mate. If I need another one I will be back. Also should be cheaper than those quotes.

The top of my spray hood is 37 inches above the centre of the bridge deck (if you have the bridge deck version). I still have the roller boom furling, and measured carefully to give enough space for the rolled sail and some "boom droop" when the sail is heavily reefed. I have to bend down well to get down the hatch but the hood is nicely in proportion with the boat. I recommend using 25mm tubing for the frame, makes it really solid.

Goskars is 5 ft, from the lowest sole . That is about 4ins too high .
When tacking if sheeted hard in it fouls the boom. Not reefed. So say 4ft 6ins.
