Calypso launched, fore sail issue

Hurray and yesss.... Calypso has now been launched. Thing is, after having 'her' at home for a year I dont like it that she is all alone. (I am the first to be on the moorings).
Now to sail.... but I have a small issue with the Jib sail. It gets stuck after only a couple of feet sliding up the roller reefing fore stay 'groove'. Spray of Dunelm slippery silicone does not help. Any suggestions (apart from a new sail) ? I was thinking that there might be a 'repair' slider /link thingy (a technical term).
The main sail has plastic slider link thingies and they slide up a treat.
Calypso now launched !!!

We have had issues with this, this weekend. We tried just hoisting the slider, with a downhaul attached, and sprayed the slider and the spar as high as we could reach with WD40. Having got that moving better, we then re-attached the sail, and it went up ok.

I had to replace the liner on Emily as it had obviously jammed at one time and brute force had worn away the plastic. Easy enough to split the roller and replace the sliders. Check out where it sticks, probably the join and a scalpel may help clean it off.

Thanks, my spar is aluminium with a 'C' for the sail to slide up. There is no plastic. The slider runs up the alu. tube spar a treat. I think that the sail 'rope' (Leech ?) is no longer the smooth straight line it once was. A new sail or can the 'leech rope/cord be repaired or replaced or modified?

Thanks agin. R

Surprised no liner, usually is one, having said that my main goes up the ali mast track no problem without any liner. Might be something catching as should be OK.

If sail is Ok you can get a new bolt rope put on it, I paid £60 to put a bolt rope on a good hank on jenny.
