John and I have found a great place in Stockport that does cushions. Complete Vega cushions, 2 main cabin 2 forepeak plus forepeak infill and 4 back rests. All done in hard wearing upholstery fabric and with new dual density foam, plastic zips and piping. £270 the lot! Sure John will show some photos soon. Will tell you were it is once I have my new cushions done.

Yes - really nice job and the foam is fantastic... really firm and supportive. I am delighted with mine and the price was amazing - It would have cost me nearly that just to buy all the materials! He is also in the process of making a new spray hood cover (already have the frame) - will let you know how it turns out!

Looking forward to seeing the picks, and in the meantime keeping this from the wife. She said she'd redo Amrum's upholstery, and we started yesterday. Bought some good material on eBay - £50 for 17 metres - and then started dismantling the old ones, some of which have a wooden base. Inevitably the foam needs replacing, so I'll get some cut at the place in Bristol which did Snifter 3 years ago. However, I'm expecting that to cost £300+. Some of the cushions (in the pilot berth and right forward under the anchor locker) are PVC covered, so that'll be another £50. The whole lot will be at least £400 excluding labour, but there are 16 cushions in total. Makes your guy look incredible value - can't see how he does it at the price.... Definitely not telling SWMBO.

Just had cushions made for our 9 metre here in Turkey. Really pleased with the price and result - until we saw this that is. Ours cost £440.00. Another confirmation that Turkey is no longer such good value for money as it was. Am in a flat in Cesme right now while upholstery and interior varnishing is being done. Will take photos when finished.

Starting to feel a bit guilty! I have just been out to have a good look at my new cushions and they look very well made to me. The guy does pub upholstery and has a sample book to choose from. It all seems like good hardwearing stuff and the zips are plastic and seem good quality. I guess he just charges "normal" prices rather than "yacht" prices!
Spay hood should be ready on Friday - he is re-doing the canvas - will post pics when it is done.
