Sliding deck hatch 'cover'

Just about to refit the 'cover' over the forward part of the sliding deck hatch. I note that there is no provision for drainage. No 'scuppers' or such. It would not normally get wet, but should water splash in, inbetween it and the sliding hatch, then it would be trapped. Any thoughts on the design of this ? Maybe I'll just screw it down without sealant
My refit taking longer, but doing a thorough job. Looks like next spring for the launch.

Hi, No. The edge / prifile is as 'flat as your hat' . I think I shall file a grove and epoxy in a little tube to form a scupper. One each side.
Is that it's proper name.. "garage" ?
