Anyone know where I can get spreader end fittings (not covers)? Broke one of mine on Klipspringer when putting the mast up. The containing hole broke through and the upper shroud is currently held in place by tape.

Ron,
That's great. The fittings need to be split in some way so that they can be installed on the shroud. The originals must have been fitted to the shrouds when they were made.

Fitttings arrived. Drilled out to 10mm so that no need for slot since will clear the bottle screw fitting. Old fitting was in two parts held in with a split pin. Cast alloy with a' hook' on the end of each bit, so that the shroud could be turned and fitted in situ. One of the 'hooks' had broken. To get the old fitting out it was easier, because of corrosion, to remove the spreader from the mast and sort out on the deck. Up a ladder is not ideal for this sort of work. I drilled the new fitting to take the split pin so all secure. Anyway job now done and many thanks to Ron

I heard of someone who left a can of fuel on his boat, with plenty of sugar added to the petrol. One of the local scrotes was later seen struggling to start his outboard......
