Can anyone help us in how or where to get new poles for our Achilles?
As we are completely renewing our Achilles, we thought we might as well change the railing wires, as we were taking these out, most poles came out easily as they were corroded at the bottom or once broken before and kitted in again!

Most poles today are to be fitted on deck, but on the achilles they are fitted in the decking.

So where could I score some new poles? Hope somene can help me soon. Thanx in advance, regards Redfin

Most UK chandlers stock straight stanchions, was in Gael Force yesterday and they had them and mailspeed stock www.mailspeedmarine.com/search.bhtml?productNumber=&k...

These came with both holes for guard wires and fitted perfectly. I had to jigsaw down one side of the old stanchion inside to remove due to corrosion, pictures posted on my site.

Dear Chille Pepper and Rothwell_neil, thanx for you replies.
I will check the website and your pictures! Were "Chandlers"made from alluminium or steel?

Sorry for confusion, Chandlers is the English name for yacht part suppliers. The stanchions that I bought were stainless steel with two holes in. Regards Neil
