Just in case you ever want epoxy. This stuff is very good and you get 1.5kg for the usual price of a Kg. Good pot life and easy to use.

What is interesting is that it is 2:1 mix ratio, West is 5:1 anybody know why this could be?

Can be from 1:1 to 10:1 depends on the resin and manufacturer. Over the years I have used many different makes and mixes from most manufacturers and this one rates up there with the best of them, good surface finish as tends to be self levelling even when spread thin. The best advise you can get is to use a digital balance to mix resins and paint, cover with clear plastic to avoid the wrath of the wife and then you tend to end up with the right amount of resin and hardener even at the end of the pots. Nothing worse than having half a pot of resin and no hardener left as we all tend to err on the side of caution and add more rather than less hardener. As to why 2:1 or 5:1 no idea!

This is interesting as I am building a ply clinker dinghy in the garage which requires huge amounts of epoxy to cover it and I was looking for something cheaper/ better than West . I hasten to add that this is taking forever as I am not happy with scarfing the ply, it is difficult to get a really neat finish, plus the price of the epoxy is a little off putting..lol

hahaha!! it is actually buried in the garage at the moment but just to please Ron I shall get some pictures done. I bought the plans on e bay and if it looks like the picture will look very pretty it is 12ft clinker effect ply/epoxy boat that can be rowed, sailed or motored

@Skykomish,
The reason for the 2:1 mix ratio is that we mix 2 different hardeners together to create extra flexibility and to make it very easy for the end user, resulting in the 2:1 Mix ratio.
If I can be of any further assistance just ask.
Regards
(p.s thanks for the good review Neil, appreciate it)

I ordered some late on Wednesday on Neil's recommendation above - it arrived this morning. If the product is as good as the service, I'll be very pleased!

Thanks @reactiveresins as soon as I have some spare cash I shall be placing an order. Is it a problem that I have already used West Epoxy in some places?

The product spec will say no,because they will never endorse mixing products. the best thing to do is conduct your own test, I have successfully used different types of resins before.

Personally I don't think it will be a problem as what I have used has been set for some time and would only be using the new resin as a coating, not mixing products together

It's a good deal for UK customers but unfortunately to Ireland postage brings it to £43.27 for
EPAFDP220-1.5 - 1.5 kg SYNTAC fast epoxy pack @ £19.41
Is there an outlet in Ireland where it can be bought?

Hi,
What is the first 2 letters of your postcode?
This has always been a problem when shipping offshore from the UK the price seems to get crazy from the couriers!!
Was it just the one pack you needed? as if you require more I might be able to do something to contribute towards the shipping costs?
