Looking to have some drying legs for cruising shallow harbours and also for winter. Fin is great but legs would be a help. Anyone got any drawings of how to fit or even better pictures of how they look or how to fit? Any legs out there looking for an owner?

Really interested in how you attach to the hull etc?

Very interested in a pair and would be happy to pick up as always happy to find a reason to travel to a nice part of the country. How do they fit to the hull under the gunwal? Looks from your photos like they fit in a hole with an expansion bolt?

The hole is a threaded tube /plug glassed in from new . I can just see yours in one photo . Its a old imperial thread .I think I still have some left, We carried Chilles on board the first year (they come apart so they will go into the under berth locker.) Chilles are original so i copied them for Goskar and made a spare set (sold to Merlin)
The steel comes to £47 each set , Alloy is a possibility but much more expensive and bigger section for strength. (i cant weld alloy )
Steel ones arent to heavy though. I use red lead then hammerite,Chilles were galvanised

That would be excellent as I could then take them for cruising as they come apart and use them for the winter. Do remember seeing those holes now you mention it! Just another sign of the forward thinking that Messrs Butler and Lee put into the boat.

Do you want a deposit?

Dreadful weather for Cowes Week.

Chille

Legs look superb. Went walking in the lakes this weekend as wanted to do some routes that need dry conditions and long days. Very wet and very dark, lakes all full, streams rivers, rivers torrents, boots wet, beer gardens empty, glad not bothered with the boat. Hoping for a good autumn.

Sorry to hear about Ian.

I was asking tongue in cheek, now I have a pattern I can source a bit of teak and get it copied.

Hope the new job works out well.

We'll be down on Saturday, and the following weekend, weather forecast looks better.

rothwell_neil says:

I don't think I will be able to make the get together as I am due to be away then. If you e- mail me your address I will send a cheque for the legs, really appreciate your efforts on these.
My e-mail is neil@c3amulet.com

If you could bring the legs to Wales maybe there is someone closer to Manchester that will be attending and I could pick up the legs from them?
Regards
Neil
