Can anyone suggest a replacement for the seal around the forward hatch - the one on my boat was missing when I bought it & I've had to make do with a 'temporary' repair ever since - Chris

Aeolus has a neoprene square section strip glued to the upper lip of the hatch, I used Super glue to stick it as when I purchased the boat it had come unglued and leaked.
So far it doesn't leak now.

Alternatively E bay has sealing strip advertised regularly on the boats and watercraft section I am sure that there should be something on there considering the simple profile required

I used this:

www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?id=40425&ts=10607

It was easy to fit and there are no leaks yet!

(If the link doesn't work it's Stormguard Extra Thick Weatherstrip from Screwfix.)

I ve just found that a Mondeo door rubber seal looks as if it will do nicely It may need a bit of trimming. (other seals may be better look in the scrapyard)

Thanks Ron - sorry for delay in replying - just got back from week in Barbados ( wish I had my boat out there - had to make do with trip on 50ft cat! (+ 30 other people!))
If you could spare some of the seal I'd appreciate it ( & refund postage)
Re your message - 2 pack epoxy paint - paint mixed with hardener - sticks to the gel-coat like the proverbial!
What paint did you use above the waterline to get that fabulous finish! - Chris

The paint was a base coat and a clear laquer as used on car bodywork . Nissan red, (polished by my son chille prepper)
With ideal conditions I can get that finish from the gun .
But its more difficult heating up a boat both sides and keeping the dust off .( I used a heaver coat to stop runs hence orangepeel)
Email me your address to greyhoundturning@yahoo.com
I will send some sealing strip
Glad you had a good time any photos?
