Hi Friends!

Are you ready to recover your ironing board?

If so, the tutorial is posted here:

ihavetosay.typepad.com/randi/2012/02/sew-along-with-me-ir...

I went with one full tutorial this time, since there didn't seem to be an obvious stopping point for separating it into 2 tutorials. Tomorrow I will post a quick how-to for redoing your ironing board pad. Of course, you can simply use your old one, but it's super quick to change it out.

Please leave any questions or comments here and I will be checking in throughout the day to see how it's going for everyone.

Also, don't forget to post pictures!

Happy sewing,

Randi :)

Hi Randi!! How wide is your ironing board? Mine is 18" wide. I'm thinking the width of my fabrics should be a little more than 24"? Maybe like 28" wide?

Mine is 13" wide. You should be fine--you just won't have any fabric to cut off on the sides after you mark 4" all the way around. Also, when you make the casing--do the first fold 1/4" and the second fold 5/8". That will give you a bit more fabric to work with.

SASHA--I just realized this: if you have extra fabric simply widen the cuts you make (add an extra 5"). I am pretty sure that I sent you 44" wide rather than 24" wide.

I am totally going to make this! I have been needing a new cover for the longest time, but haven't gotten around to making a new one. I absolutely love your tutorial! I don't know when I'l do it, but I will. ;) Thank you!! :)
