Hi..Im an archiecture student in New Zealand and I am currently working on a project which involves designing an emergency shelter for the favelas after a landslide occurs. I don't really know much about favelas so I thought as part of my research maybe post a topic to get feedback frompeople who know and have experienced seeing or living in the favela. My questions include:

Do they get a lot of landslides? what do they do when a landslide happens in the favela? do the government help them re-build there houses? when some of the houses are destroyed in the favela where do the people go? do they sleep in a school or a refuge camp until there houses are re-built again?

whats the lifestyle in a favela and the character of the favela and around it?
