Growing up, my parents would buy me records if I asked, but I knew I was my own little rocker when I walked into the Little Rock, Arkansas K-Mart and bought my first album:
Young Americans - David Bowie

The K-Mart is long gone and an Altell Arena sits on the spot.

PS. my father once presented me with a John Denver cassette, I'm not sure I remember asking for it though.

I remember having Blondie's Parallel Lines when I was around 7, but I am not sure if I bought it with birthday money or someone got it for me. The first trip I remember where I bought stuff on my own was to the local Clover store (sort of a Philly-area version of K-Mart), where I bought a Donna Summer 45, Double Fantasy and ... Chipmunk Punk. I really have no explanation.

My second purchase was
David Bowie - Station to Station at the Little Rock AFB Base Exchange
My third was
Queen - Sheer Heart Attack from a place at the mall

There are several purchases that I was so excited about they actually etched themselves in my memory.

You know, I can hardly remember what I did last week...

The first album I bought was Guns N Roses - Appetite for Desteruction. I remember thinking the inside cover was a bit unsettling.

Hmm... sadly enough, I can't say I've ever bought an album completely on my own. Isn't that funny? My parents are there every time I get a CD. Well, my friend bought me Nirvana's Bleach on her own :p
It's pretty sad that that is the closest I've ever gotten.

interesting ROck n ROll animal
its about and dedicated to his friend
andy worhol actor
singer
ERIC EMMERSON who had a band the MAGIC TRAMPS
they always double billed with THE NY DOLLS at the MERCER ARTS CENTER in the Village were it all began
Lou was a good close bud of Eric
WRic was also the first band that played CBGBS
it was still called HILLY's
and the Stiletoes
with CHRIS STIEN AND DEBBIE HARRY who later formed BLONDIE
ERIC died and Lou did the album for him
Eric had a song called "ANIMAL OF LOVE"
it was a very emotional personal album for Lou
it was all for Eric

yea I knew them and recently saw Lou ,hired for a photo shoot to photograph Lou and gave hin some lost tapes of Eric he never got to record a record
Lou FREAKED OUT
he was shaking and speech less
imagine Lou speechless
Lous got a good heart
underneath his often horrendous obnoxious snide additude
hes a good guy
good heart
thank god he s off drugs
his speed years were disgusting
what a BITCH he was!
