The Eurythmics:
Mud Island, Memphis Tennessee
Howard Jones opened.
Annie Lennox did a version of Heard it Through the Grapevine that, to this day, has not been bested in my ears.
I was accosted by an overzealous guard who tried to take my purse. It was in the shape of a camera and she didn't want me taking pictures of Dave and Annie.

Van Halen
Barton Colloseum, Little Rock Arkansas
I have no idea what tour it was, what songs they played. I pretty much went because there was nothing else to do. Somewhere in the early 80's.
The highlight of he show was Diamond Dave getting beaned my a glow stick thrown from the audience. The thing seemed to spin in slow motion and you could hear the crowd saying a collective, OHHHHH NOOOOO. Then bam. He was so mad he pitched a fit and challenged the glow stick tosser to a fight. It turned out to be a girl.

Jonathan Richman
Jaunita's Cantina, Little Rock Arkansas
I love JR. He was playing away and in the middle of a song he stops and inquires what some noise in the room is. Everyone gets quiet and he says that it is coming from the bar. What is that noise?
The bartender says, "It's our Margarita machine!"
JR says something to the effect, "Can you turn that thing off? It's really distracting."
After a pause the bartender says, "No, sir, this is a Mexican Cantina, we can't turn off the margarita machine."
What a crack up!

Most recently I had a dream come true when Patti Smith came to Vancouver and played at the Commodore Ball Room. Other than some idiot jumping up and down and screaming, "PISSING IN A RIVER!!!!" in my ear half the show, it was fantastic. I really expected Vancouver to be more reverent for an icon, though.
