Group DescriptionName: National Parks of New York Harbor
This group was created to post and discuss photos from all 23 sites of the National Parks of New York Harbor (NPNH). It is administered by the Harbor Conservancy, a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 2005 in partnership with the National Park Service to preserve and protect NPNH for the people of the region and for visitors, both national and international.
With nearly 27,000 acres, NPNH is the largest caretaker of shoreline—public or private—on the waterfront. Lower Manhattan is the epicenter of this network of harbor parks, historic sites and recreation areas that arc to three other boroughs of the city—Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island—and across to New Jersey. These national parks host over 20 million visitors annually.
