In Memoriam: πρώρα (Prora) 7:56pm, 28 March 2007
Some of you may have noticed that I have become an admin of this group. Nobody could be more surprised than I.

I joined on 24 March when I first found this group by accident. Its purposes were well in line with my life-long beliefs so it was a natural place for me to be.

I noted that there were quite a few (110 to be precise) pictures in the pool which seemed utterly unrelated to the objects of the group and commented privately to the then admin bfelice. Her reply didn't really satisfy me so I started a thread on the topic. I also suggested that two threads publicising a competition that ended in 2006 should be removed as they had passed their usefulness. To my surprise bfelice suggested I should become an admin. I suggested we discuss it but before we could do so I found that she had appointed me and resigned from the group with no explanation.

Her decision was her own and i am sorry to see the person who started the group leave in this way, I will do my best to sustain and help the group to grow and, specially, to advance the cause of attaining the UN MDGs.

Hi Harold.

First of all, congrats on your non-salaried appointment. :) Also, just thought you'd be interested to know that there is a group I began last summer for the World Urban Forum.

John

P.S. Don't even think of making me a co-admin! I'm not sure if these groups get much if any attention with all of the pretty pictures of kittens and sunsets on Flickr . . .

Thanks for the "non-salaried" - I just hope it remains a labour of love. :-)

I love my cat but not in the way that the fanatics in Flickr do. They outdo the ancient Egyptians in their feline worship.
