This pool is for body-positive *self-portraits* of fat folk who flout the norms! Showing some skin is okay, but please, no pr0n or voyeur pics, thank you. (If you or your photos have been removed from the group, it's because your images did not meet this criteria.) Enjoy, and thank you for your thoughtful posts.

Group DescriptionPhotos in this group should embody this idea:
"Let go of fear. Don’t let fear keep you from living your life the way you want to. Don’t be afraid to put on spandex and go to the gym. Don’t be afraid to order the cheesecake. Don’t be afraid to use the word fat. Boo during the trailer for that disgusting Dane Cook movie. Don’t be silent. Don’t allow yourself to be marginalized."
--From the Big Fat Deal Blog, "10 Ways To Be A Body Positivity Advocate"
I'm Stephanie, and I first created my flickr set entitled "How Not To Shoot Fat Chicks" as a tongue-in-cheek approach to debunking the popular notion that fat girls can only be attractive--and should only be photographed--with "photo tricks"!
Here are some of the "rules":
1. Always shoot her from above.
2. Never shoot her from below.
3. Never shoot the profile.
4. Never let her wink.
5. Never shoot her entire body.
6. Don't show too much skin.
7. Don't catch her slouching on a couch.
And I'm sure there are others, and variations on these--unspoken rules that keep fat people marginalized. I say that rules are made to be broken. :) I highly recommend breaking them whenever you darn well please. Men or women!
Photos in this group should come from a body-positive perspective, and a sense of humor is pretty much required. See my photo set for ideas.
Group RulesThis is not just a group for "BBWs", etc. This group is about body positivity. Please do NOT post porn or anything unrelated to the topic.
I will delete any photo that has nothing to do with the topic!
If you have any questions, feel free to flickrmail me, strph.
