Please only add photos of REALLY remote lighthouses here. Generally if they can be reached by regular ferry service, foot, bus, car or bike - don't add them! If you have to be an olympic swimmer to reach them or own a helicopter - feel free to add them!! Some GREAT photos being added here. It's so exciting seeing all these remote lighthouses and thinking of these stalwart beacons faithfully doing their job throughout this stormy weather. PLEASE GEOTAG YOUR PHOTOS!!! :-)

Group Description"There is something strangely romantic, if not mysterious, about an isolated tower of rock planted on a wave-swept reef sending out its beam of light across the turbulent waters below . . . the sight of a granite finger rising sheer from a half-submerged rock and subject to assaults by wind and wave of unprecedented ferocity, cannot fail to overawe."
Christopher Nicholson, 'Rock Lighthouses of Britain'
This group is for photos of ROCK LIGHTHOUSES (those situated on basically lumps of rock in the ocean somewhere). Also include photos of lighthouses that are pretty much inaccessible but not necessarily known as Rock Stations.
Please do not include photos lighthouses on the mainland or on islands with regular ferry services. There are plenty of other groups for these photos.
