I currently shoot on a Canon EOS 7D mostly on a EF-S 17-85mm IS USM Lens. This was the stock lens from my previous 40D Body. I don't really have any issues with the lens but thinking of upgrading, something a little faster would be nice.

The main reason I am thinking of upgrading is I've got my first wedding shoot in March. I occasionally still use a Canon 300v film body that only accepts EF Mount lenses - so something that can be used on both would be a bonus.

My current thought is to go with the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, although I have seen a few comments saying it's not really wide enough on the 7D because of the crop factor, so just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

Thanks, Will

I would go with the 24-105mm. I am looking at purchasing one right now for my 5D Mark III. I am using the 28-135 which is a great lens but the 24-105 is going to be better since it is a professional lens and it offer lot more sharpness and clarity.
