Your photo must be of a place where a letter clearly *used to be*, but is no more. You may include some letters in context if necessary (e.g. show a couple surrounding letters for a space where a letter fell off a marquee). It's also ok if some tiny bits of the letter remain, as long as the vast majority is gone. We have settled for at least 80% gone.
is it a spot where there used to be an H but now it's gone and there's just this vestige (perhaps leftover from collected dirt behind the H, or perhaps sun-un-faded, or something like that)? if so, i would say it totally counts.
That's tricky. Those events are just beautiful as images - but I have avoided including them in my alphabet set of the missing and decayed. They're problematic in an alphabet because the replacement letter is so visually dominant. What say others?
Someone might take a cue from my alphabet of missing letters, where the Q is the only self-made letter - simply a sheet of sticker letters, showing the spot where the Q has been peeled off. Would be allowable I think, when we're as stuck as we are now. And could probably be done so as to look more missing than mine does.
one part of me agrees with CSF that i wouldn't want to skip just one letter...but another part of me thinks that would make the mosaic for this alphabet delightfully self-referential, which is always a nice bonus.
i'll just toss my P up there on the board to provide maximum options for proceeding:
1. delete one of the Ps and keep waiting for Q (status quo) 2. delete one of the Ps, skip Q, and someone posts an R 3. delete eva's P, and she posts her Q.
Is this U missing enough? If not, I'll leave it in the hands of the administrator to delete it. I have another U that definitely fits, but it's like one I posted earlier. I think we need diversity, not expediency.

no, not enough V missing. i'm actually not sure about monceau's U either. i think it's more "faded" than "missing", and too hard to say what's "faded enough". i'm going to remove the U for now, and wait for something better. i agree diversity beats expediency.
