LEAVING COMMENTS
I would encourage all members to leave BALANCED comments. As well as saying what you like about the photograph and why you like that particular element also (as long as you don't see an X after the title) please say if there is something about the image that you don't like and again why you don't like. If you can see some improvements they could make, that is even better. This will help the photographer and also help you develop as a photographer.

Do not be concerned that people may think "what makes you qualified to comment". As long as you are just giving YOUR honest opinion, the photographer then has the option to take notice of the comment or not. But since it is YOUR opinion nobody can say this is wrong. In giving YOUR opinion only YOU are 100% qualified. Even if you are NOT technical or a complete beginner it is still useful to get the beginners thoughts. An artist does not create work just for other experienced artists but for everybody, so all opinions are useful.

"Awesome" & "NICE" don't help a great deal for the person making the comments or the photographer.

"I find this image to have a calm and relaxing effect on me because of the muted colours and creates a nostalgic scene that helps reminds me of my childhood" gives the photographer some insight.

Leaving honest and balanced comments is a great way to develop your photography as it makes you think and exercise your photographic brain cells and provides useful insight to the photographer. However, don't be afraid to say if you don't like something as long as you say why. It is your opinion and you are the sole expert on that subject, the photographer can take it on board or decide to ignore it.
