hi all, has anyone had any experience of one of these cameras? i bought one recently from a junk shop to try out. got it home to put a roll of film in and thats where my problem starts.
the film fits in ok but there is a thin metal plate on a hinge that i presume acts like a shutter curtain. i thought that the film would go under this, but that way i couldnt wind the film on and eventually, i tore the film.
any help would be great.
thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul
Versions carrying the Beirette name where made from the mid/late 50s to the late 70s.Find a electronic (free) instruction manual:-

thanks for that mark,
i think ive sorted that problem now. ive got the film loaded and winding on. now i have to understand what the dial at the bottom of the camera does. focusing is by distance, aperture and shutter speed are ok to understand. i think the dial im on about might have something to do with the film speed, but when i move it, it also adjusts the aperture.there arent any symbols for the sun, cloud etc. very confusing.

well it worked. i had the film developed yesterday.i was very pleased and suprised that most of the shots came out good. overall they were a little overexposed and a few the focus was off, but decent result considering i used a lightmeter app on my phone, and the focus had to be done by measurement. it was very sharp when i got it right. it was a strange experience not having used film for some years, i actually double exposed a couple because i forgot to wind the film on, but ill definately have another crack at it.

Are you going to scan/load any up to your photo-stream so we can have a look?
