May I suggest a future possible session? How about a gobo-grid-dish-ringflash. Both DIY made and commercially manufactured.

Yes suggestions are always welcome. A few of us have been chatting about this... wanting to add more learning to the group. We could go lots of routes and have years of different lessons. Here are some of the other suggestions:
<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>
Jan 6th: Plexigalss
Feb 3rd: Seamless backdrops
Mar 3rd: remote triggers
April 7th: Grids and snoots
May 5th: Colored Gels
Jun 2nd: Ring lights
Jul 7th: Makeup
<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I would also add things like a beauty dish, gridded softboxes, strip banks, white and black bounce cards, barndoors (although that could be under the grids and snoots one), rim lighting, clamshell lighting, booms and extenders, controlling spill by covering up the umbrella (or softbox), the list could go on and on but that is what I'm thinking now.

I think some people would also like to learn a little about self promotion and photography as an income source.

The hope is to have an environment that everyone one feels welcomed whether they have gear or not and everyone can learn.

This is a great concept and much appreciated time and effort from the Organizers. I'm bummed I won't be able to make any of these series until year 2019. I service a client on the first Wednesday night of every month, that is their contract. I do like the concept of first Wednesdays because it keeps it consistant, thus making it easier for host/attendees to plan. Curious what others might say, and I'm not saying change it on the account of my schedule.

I say we wait until 2019. I think I'll be able to make it.

In 2019 I wonder if Canon will have designed my dream body and lens combo? Or will Steve Jobs beat Canon to the punch and incorporate the new kickass DSLR into his new iPhone?

I would like to attend.

For the quickie topic we will be talking about small strobes. I currently have 430 ex, 580 ex, 580 EX II, sb800 and vivitar 285HV. Does anyone else have anything different? I am looking for 1 of each model so people can see the differences and talk about the pros and cons of each.
Laura Jennings 9 years ago
I'll need to change my response to a 'maybe'. Leaving town next week and have a bunch of stuff I need to get done before then. I'll try to make it though!
dath1974 9 years ago
I have a couple LP120s I'll bring along.

No problem, I have two with me most of the time anyhow, so it's all good.
