Hello and welcome to macro for beginners. I thought there must be other people out there, like me who are taking their first steps into the macro world and don't feel ready to compete with the seemingly professional shots of some other groups. This group is for you to post your pictures, comment on others, hopefully get tips on how to make them better, discuss any issues and most of all to enjoy, so have fun!
Group DescriptionThis macro group is for beginners to this art. Just because we're beginners, doesn't mean we're no good at it! There is a sister group once you feel you are no longer a beginner called MACRO LOVERS, go check it out!
Please note that using a macro lens or the macro mode on a camera may NOT always produce an image that is a true macro.
Close-Up Photography is where the reproduction ratio is from 1:10 to 1:1 - ie from 1/10th life-size to life-size.
Macro Photography is where the reproduction ratio is from 1:1 to 10:1 - ie from life-size to ten times life-size.
And, for the record, Micro Photography is where the reproduction ratio is greater that 10:1 - ie greater than 10x life-size
