So, a good chunk of you already know, but some may not, but on July 31st my wife Nicole's brother Shane was one of the 3 American hikers that were taken in to custody by Iranian authorities for allegedly crossing a poorly marked border. We have not heard from Shane, Josh or Sarah since, today is day number 36 with no contact. Between the 3 families it has been a non-stop, day and night effort to bring them back home safely, so non-stop that aside from doing the Makeover and shooting a handful of pics of our new house my camera has sadly obtained a layer of dust.

It is to the point where expenses are starting grow, and with most of these family members unable to work, well, money is starting to be an issue when flights need to be booked for interviews and meetings, awareness needs to be raised, and so on.

I have several local fund raising events in the works, and I guess I would just like to advertise them here for anyone willing to help spread the word.

The first that just went live yesterday is that Shane at Laughingstock Design put together was FTH tee's. If anyone has seen Shane's shirts you know they are of great quality. All proceeds will be going to the 3 families, and can be had here, in both men's and women's fits:

www.laughingstockdesign.biz

I have another event coming up on the 15th or 16th for all you pizza eaters (of course) and Ill fill you all in when everything is finalized.

Some places to find out more information about what is going on in this seemingly never ending effort:

Inquiring minds can feel free to ask questions, but please note I reserve the right to edit or delete any posts I feel are not appropriate as while this is out in the general public, it is still a very sensitive situation.

Thank you to everyone who has been giving us your support from day one, and thank you to everyone that gets on board in the future in helping us bring our loved ones back home.

I spoke to Shane at Laughingstock yesterday and if you want you can contact him directly to purchase and pick up your shirt locally to avoid paying for shipping.

Nate and family-

We have been following the site and news, and think of the three often. My in-laws (Iranians, in Tehran) are following also and offer nothing but well-wishes and support. It is indeed a very sensitive topic. We are all hoping, praying, wishing for a safe, happy return soon.

We will be purchasing t-shirts. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do - really.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

There is going to be a rather large fund raising/awareness event at the Spiritual Deli from 6-9 on Sept 27th with a meditation hike prior from 4-5.

I know this is the same day as the Sept meeting but there was really no way around it. We are expecting a huge crowd so it might be a good photo op?

More info to come.

Alrighty, Sunday is coming up, this thing is going to have a great turnout. Please stop if you can, Justin and Brandon are going to have a photo booth for those of you who need a pic in your FTH shirt to send to tpix@freethehikers.org for our visual petition at freethehikers.org/?page_id=817

I feel so positive about our situation in general, so much so that I am going to make a wager that we will have them back in ~2 weeks. I don't know why, but my gut is rarely wrong. Duluth and Superior, you have been great to us!

I wish there were words to express how sorry I am that this situation has not been resolved and that your family members are not home. I wish there was more that we could all do to help.
