i won't be able to meet at all next week. i've overbooked my time, am super fried, and having an awful day currently. i just don't think i can handle anything else for next week.

The meeting was attended by Brian, Amanda, Nate and me.
We've decided the followings.

1. set a base price for each print based on its size. These are not final, we can still change these prices, or you can pick your own pricing if necessary.

16 x 20(24) $100
11 x 14 $65
8 x 10 $29
7 x 5 $19
card $5
tax is include in the price. e.g. $60.47+4.53(tax)=$65

2. If everyone wants to display framed photos, 3 photos per person due to the limitation of the wall space.

3. The following items will be provided by Nate
Table
Tarp
mat cutting - if you provide a sheet of mat, Nate will cut it for you.
chairs
banner for our tent

4. The following items will be provided by Brian
cash box
cooler
clear bags to put a matted print - email brian if you need any

5. we need to come up with our shift schedule. it'll be nice to have two people together for each shift. The art fair is from 10am to 5 pm, so that we need to be there from 9 am to 6 pm.

6. we may want to have two more meetings. One in May and one right before the art fair.

I would like to add that will will both front the cost and produce several stands to hold matted prints. These will be useful for the other shows I will be attending over the summer.

Sounds good, we need 12x18 prices though. I don't print many 11x14's
Would like to see 12x18's in the $80-$85 range.

Oh and those prices are for Un-matted pieces right? Those are way too cheap for matted pieces IMHO.

Yes, unmatted, unframed and yes, you can adapt the pricing to fit your exact size. 12x18 for $80 sounds fine to me.

these prices for unmatted pieces are higher than i would ever ask for any of my work. so i don't know how i feel about using them.

i wouldn't mind spending most of each day working at the booth- i have the time.

what can i bring/purchase/etc. to contribute? (i'll bring beverages and some food for the actual event.)

does everyone have an idea of how many prints they'll be selling? i need to get an idea of what my share of the exibition cost will be. Did you all talk about that?

brian- what cost to buy clear bags from you?

is the DPG bank account contributing anything towards this? Are we giving a percent back to the DPG? if so, what amount?

i'm sorry i missed the meeting. i had a very traumatic weekend trying to keep baby kittens alive and they all died and i am very depressed and just didn't want to leave the house yesterday.
i would really like to have another meeting in May.

Nate, I was mentioning the print price only, but packaged with my "temporary" matting to make it look better. If it is permanently mounted, you can certainly adjust the price accordingly, if you like.

I just think that we shouldn't have 2 pieces of about the same size where one is for 1/2 of the other. Or do we need to just say that it is totally up to each artist regardless of what others are charging??

I just don't want to stray away from my regular price schedule because someone else doesn't feel comfortable selling at a higher price. I think it should be open to make everyone comfortable.

The prices above are pretty much exactly what I already charge for prints so I am comfortable with them, but don't want to go lower.

okay answer my other questions about what was decided regarding spliting the booth fee/ DPG funds/ DPG percent

that will help me decide what i feel comfortable asking for my stuff.

Yes, DPG was 10% of actual profit on the piece.

The $180 ($185?) booth fee was going to be split proportional to the total of all sale prices for each of us. So if Shawn submits 2 pieces that each have a sale price of $100 for a total of $200 in artwork, and Natalie submits a single $50 item, Shawn would be paying 4x as much as Natalie for the booth fee.

Should we do that the same way for any other costs of the booth?

Okay i just wasn't sure if the DPG account was going to chip-in some of the exhibition cost since we are giving 10% of sales back to the group account.

i'm going to ask a little less for my stuff if that's okay.

is there anything i could work on for the booth? i have a framed print off the DPG's mission statement that we can set up on the table.

Personally, after contributing so much to our last 2 shows I don't think we should take any more out until we put some back in. But that's just me....

I think the booth is pretty much taken care of, but I also think a mission statement in a larger size on an easel outside of the tent would be cool....

Final meeting before Art Fair: Tuesday, June 16th. Should we say 6pm Burrito Union or Brewhouse?

Amanda- will you have your prints done and bring them?

Nate- for those wanting you to cut matting, when is the latest you'd like to hear from us about it?

Brian- the plastic bags you have- how much are they, is a cardboard "backing" included with each?

I unfortunately had to shell out a lot of money for my car this week so it now looks like i'm only going to be able to afford to print off about 10 images or so(larger sizes). : ( I'm hoping to change this.

How many prints do you each think you'll have?

Bags $0.75 to $1.50 each with a white cardboard backing. I have 8x12, 11x14, 12x18 (I think), 16x20, and 18x24.

I may not have enough backing for everybody, if that happens, prices are reduced.

Yeah probably by the 21st.

Ill have the tent on hand tonight and will start working on the walls + 3 stands early next week.

The banner should be ready by the end of next week or early the following week.

Brian- Ill definitely needs some bags. I have 50 extra 5x7 bags for greeting cards if you want to do a trade?

My prints should be done. Right now I have all the prints I'm doing (I think- there's one I'm not 100% happy with so I don't know). I just have to buy the matte board, get it cut, and packaged.

Okay, maybe it won't be done. That's a lot of work.

The official bag/backing price list:

(Size: bag price + backing price = total)

11x14: 0.15 + 0.50 = $0.65
11x17: 0.17 + 0.80 = $0.97
16x20: 0.20 + 1.00 = $1.20
18x24: 0.40 + 1.30 = $1.70

I have a total of this many backings left (and I can put in an order for more, but time is getting short):

11x14 = 12
11x17 = 18
16x20 = 28
18x24 = 23

Ok, so, something for you all to ponder before Tuesdays meeting: I was wondering how you would feel about waving some or all of my entry fee. I am putting roughly $250 in to building the display units, and that is far more than I would have to pay back.

Just thought I would throw that out for your consideration.

Btw, anyone is more than welcome to use this stuff......

Sorry you missed us, Kenji! The only new thing that might be useful is that I am going to research shipping/handling costs for each size to have that as an option for customers as well.
