Hey guys, just wondering if there is any interest in exploring the Old Carlson Bookstore in downtown Duluth. It is closed and up for sale. It will not be around much longer and it holds a lot of amazing things.
Please respond if you would be interested in setting up a time/date to explore.
ps: I used to have an office in there and still have keys.
hmmm... since there were a scant EIGHT people that replied, if you include jimi... prior to you MOB comment... i must conclude that when you use the word MOB that you implied the following definition as defined by webster?
the lower classes of a community
my response? huh.
oh well. your loss. it's cool in there. perhaps you can arrange your own private tour?

Sweet, I'm glad people are interested. I just spoke with the owners, Bud and Heather Persgard and they said it's a go. They want to be there to make sure nobody gets hurt and what not. I'm thinking we can do it sometime on the weekend. How would Sunday work for everyone? Let me know, cause I want to make sure as many people as possible can make it.
Also, bring money cause they are getting rid of everything, at a discounted price. The photo book section is still pretty full. There are tons of books, records, posters, and underground comics.
Dude. You're in charge. Please post a specific firm time/date. Once people know what the specs are, they will modify their schedule to fit. It would be cool too if there was enough notice so that people could modify and/or plan their day... but most importantly... just say when. Specifically.
JImi says, "We don't all have to be there at the same time either." and "I'll be down there tomorrow". Perhaps I'm misreading this, but there doesn't seem to be any conflict between those who have the luxury to be a bit impulsive and those who are stuck planning. As long as Jimi's up for it.
You can still get in and everyone else still has some time. The building is up for sale, their are some serious people interested in buying it. Even if it sold today it would take a month or so to get everything out. But the Posters could be coming down sooner than later. It would be nice and sort of sad to get pics of the contents of the store slowing leaving. Bud and Heather, the owners are happy to let anyone in there to take pics as long as they are there and I'm there to be a guide. The only thing they ask for is a cd of images, which can be directed through me. They want some visual memories. Also, if you want to buy records, mags, etc. There are some sick deals. I'll be there on Sunday at 2pm unless anyone needs me their earlier.
It's Sunday! I'll be there at 2pm for anyone interested. Hit me up via email at email@example.com if you have any questions, I can get email on my phone so I'll be able to reply quickly.
I might have to come back again as well. Some of the stuff I've worked with so far I think is some of the best tri-pod work I've done in a long time This time I'll bring a huge effin flash light or something so I can compose and focus before I start getting dizzy and hallucinating again.
