Welcome to the group Alex. I am in the same boat, I am about 3/4 of the way through a post degree certificate in Public relations. You have some nice photos in your stream.

Welcome! Love the first post--you're off to a good start.
Thanks for the warm welcome, I spend way too much time on flickr....one more group can't hurt.

Welcome to the group Alex. Thanks for saying hello straight away. Deep in our threads we have a discussion where you can find out a bit more about some of us. Check out www.flickr.com/groups/thirtysomething/discuss/72157594284... for some extra flickr reading!

Hi Alex from way down here in Australia. :)
Fenstar 11 years ago
ooh I'm an Aussie too :)
Hi everyone!
What's the weather like in your part of the world?
It is frosty here, a lovely day. :)
Bill Smith1 PRO 11 years ago
We are in a relatively mild patch of a cold snap -5c vs -15c before windchill, but that is Canada for you. I am going skiing tomorrow.

Today, according to the weatherman, it's meant to be heading up to 31C, fine with moderate S / SE winds. A fairly standard summer day for sunny Brisbane. :)
If we're lucky, we'll get a thunderstorm tomorrow.

Hi cheshkat! What part of this wide brown land do you hail from ?

This group has (proportionally) a lot of Australian members. Probably more than any other group I'm in. I think that's pretty cool. I've never been there, but my wife spent 6 months living in Sydney before I met her. And one of our friends married an Aussie, they now live around the corner from us. It's neat to see things from "down under," especially since it's so nice and warm there and so not warm here now.

Hi David, I'm from Melbourne.

Yeah it is nice and warm here at the moment. I love looking at peoples snow/rain/cold pics when I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum.
David de Groot PRO 11 years ago
Not warm here today Mike / Fen, in fact it's pleasantly cool and wet. We had a massive 84mm (about 3.5 inches) of rain overnight.

I'm about to get a few times that in snow in the next few days.

Hello ! I just joined today myself. Thought I'd give this group a try and see what it's about.

Welcome Brian. Are you currently driving across the country, or just getting ready to?

Hard to believe we're up to 51 members already...
Why hello, another newbie :)
(sunny and cold here, just lovely)
Hmmm I know I started discussing the weather but is it just further proof that youth is in the dim and distant past? what next, prostrate chat? lol
:D

I think that's a different group. Fiftysomething. ;)
Hi Mike,
There's a point...do we have to leave when we become fortysomethings??
Alex :)

Michael Costolo 11 years ago
No, but the first ones to turn 40 can start the fortysomething group.
Bill Smith1 PRO 11 years ago
Well, it could be me, I am a year and a half off Forty.
ah, that's ages away :)

Hello ! Mike Costolo to answer your question. I got until October maybe December before I'll be ready to travel. I still have to get a lot of work done to it yet.

But if you look at my post " Hello ! I Just Joined Today " you can read what I'm up to. I basically wrote telling everybody a little about myself. But don't worry I'm definately going to be putting my photo journal of my travels here on flickr. lol

HAVE FUN ! ! !

Between David, Fen & myself (and Alison) we've got the majority of the east coast of Australia covered (Brisbane up north, Melbourne down south & Sydney in the middle). We just need some members from a few smaller cities in between (Wollongong, Newcastle, Cairns maybe, oh and perhaps Hobart...not that Hobart & Cairns are "in between" but you know what I mean...).

In fact, come to think of it, there aren't that many of us (Aussies) in the group. Who else is in the group is from Australia (other than David, Fen, Alison & myself)?

Edit: Oops - forgot Canberra (well, it's pretty forgettable). :)

I suppose you're right. Still, of our members who post to threads regularly, as a group you're way up there. And I love to see your pictures of things that remind me of not winter ;)
David de Groot PRO 11 years ago
Well it's definitely not winter here and from your point of view, probably not winter even when it is ;-)

We're into storm season now, which at least gets us a wee bit of rain. If I had more time I'd be out chasing said storms.

You're probably right about that. I just got about 8 inches of snow yesterday. It was the first significant snowfall this season. We're actually quite thrilled about it.
