it was drunk and i was pretty

I realize this is woefully out of focus, but I was using my little point-shoot without a flash and was also a little drunk. This was taken at an open mic run by our neighborhood's resident cowboy at an Irish bar in northern Manhattan. A good time was had by all.

love notes from my nemesis the coffee table (she of the weak knees)

I am often tidy but not always organized. My coffee table seems to catch the brunt of it. The current state of disorder is a week's worth of clothes that landed as soon as I entered the door and items "relocated" from various bags carried throughout the day. Notes found on the original photo.
ebilflindas 11 years ago
I love perusing a person's coffee table/book case(s) to get a glimpse (maybe) of her/him that I might not have before seen. Thanks for sharing.

Now tell me, how's the boxing, and what's with the Philippine cookbook? Pinay ka? Did you spot my adobo cookin' on the stove? ;)

@ebilflindas: I was once in a relationship with a first generation Phil-Am. He liked to eat and I like to cook, but I could never find a halfway decent Phil cookbook. The relationship tanked but I finally found an awesome reference. And you're funny about the handwrap. Non-contact kickboxing, actually. Sometimes a girl just needs to beat the crap out of something. (Is this where I say "om shanti"?).

@satrina: I need to tidy my bookcase, too. I haven't yet uploaded all my CDs and half of them are out of the cases, gathering dust.

@ladybadtiming: more debauchery to follow =)

@sunshinecity: I know. Do not let my mother see this photo.

@s-t-r-a-n-g-e: Hey, I never said everything I posted would be pretty!
ebilflindas 11 years ago
Shanti shanti!

Well I'm a first gen. fil/am, and y'know, my mother never reallly cooked traditional pinoy fare. She would just experiment with whatever was in the house--which in some ways can be considered Filipino cooking!

To this day, the only "real" Fil-food I know how to cook is chicken adobo.
Oh, and rice!
Simple, lang!

Brigid's feast

The altar of St. Brigid @ St. Patrick's Cathedral.

While I do consider myself spiritual, I’m not what you’d call religious. I do have a bit of a world religion fetish, though, and in that realm St. Brigid is one of my favorite figures. There's more of an explanation in a comment I made on the photo page. =)
