No need to post a self portrait. My icon is a true and accurate likeness :-)

I changed job (was self employed now working for a web development company) and country (was in France now in the United Kingdom) a couple of weeks ago so this will document my "new life" - sort of.

Thanks for the welcome!

Departing tube
Almost forgot about taking a photo today. I took this with my phone after getting off the London underground at the end of my daily commute home. I almost didn't post the photo because of how blurred it came out but the blurring sort of mirrors how I felt at the end of the day so I thought I'd keep it after all.

Didnt know you're in here, but I think looking at my photo archive is good enough diary for me since I bring my camera everywhere I go and take a photo of anything i see that is interesting (for me). Thanks for the invite darling and the photo fits the dizzy end of the day, nice one.

So you'll bring your cam with you from now on?

London sky
This is how the sky looked on my way to work this morning. Although my camera seems to think it was blue it looked grey to me.

Isn't it great that our cameras make a grey sky look so good?
;)

Yes, now all we need is one that can make our lives less grey as well! :-)

Lighted restaurant
This glass building is part of a restaurant. I took this picture at night because I liked the effect of the lights inside.

Wind damaged factory
I walked past this building this morning and noticed it was damaged by the strong winds last Thursday - bits of the brickwork were blown off the top. Glad I was not nearby at the time.

More pictures of the damage here and here.

I've been offline for a few days. I've been taking photos but have not been able to post them so I'm going to post several days worth of photos at once here.

Emptiness
All our stuff has been packed away and our litle girl is left all alone in an empty room.

Old town Antibes seen from Salis beach
Spent time taking photos of Antibes to remind myself of the place.

I use to have the same floor as 23 Jan when I lived in Astoria (Queens, NYC). I loved that kitchen. No counter space, cabinets so high I needed a step stool to reach them, but it was large enough for a kitchen table.

Big hug
The children can be so sweet sometimes. Here they are giving each other a big hug.

your kids seem adorable!

I like the pic from jan 20th... very interesting structure and great colours!

We were lucky enough to have cabinets we could reach. The place looks so much bigger empty though!

Thanks! The kids have their good moments (and their bad moments too)!

Listening to music in Sainsbury's
We went to Sainsbury's today and this cheeky little monkey found the music section and had to try out all the different CDs.

Mile End station eastbound platform ceiling
On the way home today I was struck by the disgusting state of the platform ceilings at Mile End station on the London Underground.

Have been getting home from work late recently and so occasionally it seems a day's photo won't get uploaded until I have a moment the next day.
Cranes of dawn
Took this on the way to work this morning. I don't know why it applealed to me but it does.

Today (10th February) is the first chance I've had to update my diary for a few days because I moved house and had to wait a while to get Internet access at home.

Snow!
I woke up to find everything had gone white! Surprisingly (for London) the trains actually ran more-or-less as normal and travel did not descend into complete chaos.

Tropical house
I went on my first ever visit to Kew Gardens in London today and loved the profusion of colours in the Tropical House. More photos of Kew at www.flickr.com/photos/dsnowdon/sets/72157594530555612/

Shadow of the Giant : Orson Scott Card
The fourth (and final?) installment of the "Shadow series" which details what happens on Earth after the Bugger War in "Enders game." The events in the Shadow series all occur before the story told in the sequels to Ender's Game.

Some of Orson Scott Card's books are better than others but I enjoyed all the books in the Ender & Shadow series. OSC at his worst is still better than most science fiction authors.

French to English
Since moving from France to England one of my tasks has been changing the plugs on our many electrical appliances. Strangely the computers were the easiest as although they have the most plugs I could just change the plugs on the multi-plugs and leave the screens etc with French plugs.
